Propeller is a Murderers VS Sheriffs DUELS ability associated with a jump boost. RED21 Games officially announced it alongside Dash in the July 8, 2023 patch history. A community Abilities page observed in 2026 reports a 1,250-Gem price, but the current price, boost height, duration, cooldown, input, and reachable routes need confirmation in the live client.
Use Propeller when elevation creates a safer route or a different sightline. Height without cover can make you more visible, so judge the landing before judging the jump.
Inspect the current effect
Open the ability menu and read the current description. Confirm whether Propeller is equipped, held, or activated instantly, how movement behaves in the air, and what happens on landing. Device controls can differ; follow your current prompt.
Test in a low-risk area before using it in a close round. Choose a visible ledge, activate once, and observe the highest point and landing distance. Do not assume every decorative surface is intended to be reachable or stable.
Check whether the current map prevents access, pushes the player away, or leaves the character exposed. If a route works only through inconsistent collision, do not build the match plan around it.
Choose routes with a useful landing
A good Propeller route ends behind cover, on a stable platform, or at a sightline that lets you act and retreat. A weak route ends on a narrow edge with no protection or announces your movement against an open background.
Walk the lower route first. Know how to recover if the boost fails or the destination is occupied. Then look from the landing toward the likely opponent approach. Pre-position the camera before activation so the arrival does not require a complete turn.
Avoid repeating the same vertical move every round. Once an opponent sees the route, they can hold the landing. Alternate between the normal path and the elevated path so the ability changes the prediction rather than confirming it.
Use Propeller for information and rotation
Elevation can reveal a route briefly, but staying high too long may trade cover for information. Peek, identify movement, and return if the position is exposed. Do not call an unseen area clear simply because one angle looked empty.
In team modes, tell teammates when you are leaving the lower lane. A vertical rotation can create a second angle, but it can also leave a partner alone. Use Propeller after the team agrees which route remains covered.
If a teammate already holds height, choose a supporting lower angle instead of crowding the same platform. Two different lines force more decisions than two players standing together.
Pair the ability with weapon spacing
For revolver pressure, use height only when it provides a clear line and a safe recovery. Do not stand silhouetted while waiting for the opponent. Take the prepared angle, then move before the opponent pre-aims the landing.
For knife pressure, use elevation to shorten or disguise an approach, not to leap into a long open fall. If the current version allows attacks during the boost, verify the timing directly rather than relying on an old clip.
The official sources checked here describe skins as collectible, not statistical upgrades. A rare weapon skin does not make a Propeller route safer.
Counter Propeller
Track the destination instead of staring at the starting animation. Commonly useful destinations are stable ledges, upper lanes, and cover edges, but the exact map geometry needs current observation. Hold the landing route while preserving your own cover.
If the opponent repeats the same boost, change your crosshair placement before they appear. If they use it only for information, rotate after they leave the lower lane. Do not chase beneath an uncertain landing where you lose camera control.
In teams, communicate “up” plus the visible landmark. Avoid old callouts when the current map has changed; describe what teammates can see now.
Practice without depending on a glitch
Pick three legal-looking destinations and test each from a consistent start. Record whether the landing is stable, protected, and repeatable. Remove any route that depends on clipping, edge jitter, or leaving the intended play space.
Then play a short 1v1 block using Propeller only once per chosen trigger. Review the landing, crosshair, and retreat. If normal movement would have been safer, the ability did not add value in that situation.
Use Barn, Ridge, or Prototype to record current route observations without claiming historical geometry is unchanged.
Common Propeller mistakes
- Jumping before checking the landing and escape.
- Treating height as permanent safety.
- Repeating one visible route after the opponent learns it.
- Leaving a teammate’s lane without communication.
- Building a plan around inconsistent collision or an unintended edge.
- Publishing a current Gem price from a community page without checking the menu.
Decide whether to buy or equip it
Propeller suits a player who deliberately uses elevation and can keep the camera prepared during the move. It may not solve losses caused by poor ground-level cover timing. Test the current preview if available, read the live price, and compare the purchase with Dash or a non-movement ability.
