Read the full name in the collection or trade window. Record the weapon type, color, rarity, collection, source text, and trade status. Do not shorten “Red Dragonfire Knife” to “Dragonfire” when color variants and complete sets may have separate community references.
Confirm whether the item shown is a knife, another melee shape categorized as a knife, or a complete set. Official history has named knives, axes, hammers, scythes, and themed melee pieces. The current UI should decide the category.
Add a check date beside availability. A limited item can be unavailable in the shop while remaining tradable, or it can return later.

Check source and availability
For a case item, inspect the current case preview. For a pass item, identify the season and whether the reward was free or paid. For a bundle, confirm whether the purchase delivered one piece or matching items. For VIP, verify gamepass 190641357 and the current description.
Use “historically announced” when only a dated RED21 note supports the source. Use “community reported” when a value page or wiki supplies the connection. Use “currently available” only after the live Shop or collection shows it on the check date.
Do not infer drop odds. Official history notes that Premium Case rates changed, which is a warning against copying an older percentage table.
Compare a knife for trading
Check exact variant, rarity, current availability, and recent demand. Compare at least two dated references when possible, then inspect real item-for-item offers. A unitless community value is not a Gem price, Robux price, or cash price.
Keep complete sets separate from individual knives. A value list may place a full matching set far above one piece. In the final trade window, verify that every named item and color is present before accepting.
Read Trading Safety before moving a limited knife. Never exchange accounts, cash, passwords, or cross-game promises.
Choose a knife for play
Pick a design you can recognize easily and enjoy using. A high community value may make an item harder to replace but does not prove better combat performance. Use the same aim and movement habits regardless of the cosmetic.
If a visual effect obscures your own view or feels distracting, test another owned skin. Do not assume the opponent sees the exact same effect under every device setting. Any mechanical claim needs explicit current evidence.

- Omitting the color or exact prefix from a trade.
- Mixing an individual knife with a complete set value.
- Calling a community-reported source official.
- Assuming “limited” means permanently unobtainable.
- Copying old odds or rarity without the current case panel.
- Believing a high-value cosmetic has verified extra damage.
- Accepting after the other player changes one similar-looking variant.
